For organizations facing a hiring freeze, teams and leaders both face the challenge of maintaining productivity. Higher workloads, resulting from fewer resources and tighter budgets, significantly increase the risk of burnout. Leaders, therefore, must be proactive in creating balance for themselves and their team.
Below, Phase 3 owner Alex Cooke shares one of the most effective ways to maintain performance and productivity during a hiring freeze.
Match Employees With Tasks That Energize Them
The greatest ability of any leader is to filter out the unimportant and to bring clarity to their team. Every team has 1000 ideas, 100 to-do items, 10 important items, four vital tasks and one that is mission critical. Work with the newly shaped team to identify the priority, and then cadence activities against the delivery timeline. Lastly, make sure that the right people are energized by their tasks. – Alex Cooke, Phase 3 Search
